November 7th would have been my mom's 58th birthday...

I have been thinking for a long time that this day might be really hard for me being due and all near my mom's birthday. She passed away 8 years ago...20 days after her 50th birthday (also in November). I would love for this baby to be born on her birthday to make it a joyful day again for our family (like my grandmother and myself).

Really...I just wanted to put that out there in the universe...

Well, even though you won't have a 'bday' on that date, you will have one coming right after that sad day--and a party to plan, or a cake to make, etc...so you can always 'feel' your mom when getting all of these things ready for your child each year. Take solace in that--it may not be the same day, but you will always be 'planning' on that day!

I think my husband thought I was a little goofy when I was telling him this earlier (as "crunchy" as I can be, I'm really not the earth-mother-goddess type at all). But I firmly believe that a mama influences the date of her child's birth. Whether it's the fear of going into labor before the midwife/doctor is back in town or really hoping for a birth on a certain day to turn the emotional tide... I really believe it can happen.

Spend some time going over your emotional wellbeing - anything that may be holding you back from going into labor. Also talk with the baby about what you're feeling and how you want what's best for him/her... but how it would mean a lot to your healing process, too, to bring baby into the world now if the time is right.

And, regardless of whether you have the baby tomorrow... I pray you and your grandmother will have a good day of happy memories of your mom and more healing for the two of you.
