Ok...first of all I apologize if I'm not doing this correctly. Still figuring it out. Wanted to say Hi! I've been lurking for awhile and finally decided it was time to join in. I am 38w 3d with my second, a boy! Looking forward to hearing everyone's stories and sharing my own. One question--I still can't decide on what sling to purchase. I've looked at the reviews on here for the slings, but just curious if any November mommies have fabulous suggestions. With my daughter, I used a baby bjorn; but I would like to try a sling/pouch with this one, at least while he's still a little pumpkin.
Thanks for any thoughts....and again, I apologize if I'm not posting correctly. I'll figure it out eventually.

Hi, and welcome! I am 39 weeks, due just a bit before you.... for carrier advice, we had a baby bjorn also and loved it until dd got big and it started really hurting our backs... and we also had an over the shoulder baby holder sling, which dd hated and it seemed to bulky... so this time we are trying an ergo and a maya wrap, but unfortunately I can't tell you how they work yet! The babywearing forum might be able to give you some clues, but it seems like everyone has a different opinion of what is best and what works for them...

Hi and welcome...I'm overdue and in the waiting zone.

We purchased a New Native carrier a mei tai and a moby (which a chiro friend said was great for the back).

Hope you find one you like!

Hello

welcome to November! I have a ring sling, a Moby wrap that is ordered and on it's way and a baby bjorn (hubby wanted a more manly carrier ) And I haven't put her in any of them yet so I don't know what we like. I haven't been able to stop staring at her : but I am getting up more now that we are 3 days PP and am going to try them out in the next day or two. I am excited and will let you know what she likes and what I like.

Welcome!

I'm VERY partial to the Taylor Made slings (www.taylormadetreasures.com)

The difference between the ring slings (Mayas, Taylor made, etc) are very minor--mainly found in the 'shoulder cap'...the taylormade sling really opens up nicely and cups my shoulder better than the others!

Welcome! We are due about the same time!!

I have two good friends who loved the Moby wrap (or modified versions of it) and I've seen them in action and am impressed with them. After reading alot in the baby wearing forum, went with that. I have a Maya wrap (sling) from my last that I could never get used to or find at all comfortable. Used a Bjorn with last that worked well when whe was littler and DH liked alot but have since read they are not very good for their spines...

My understanding is that with slings you want to start them early in them to get used to it.

Welcome. I am 39 weeks. I have a Danish sling this time around, but no babe yet, so can't tell you if I like it or not. However, I have a Baby Bjørn and really must point out that there are two types of front carrying Baby Bjørns. One has a complete padding/wrap section in the back, which helps you carry babe easily and keeps stress off your back. Yes, it costs more than the budget one, but is sooooo worth the price. Plus, the guys tend to like it more. That's all I had last time and found it fabulous because my hands were free and my back was comfortable.
