What supplements and vit. do you take

What are you taking and why?

Last pregnancy all I took was a walmart prenatal and cranberry (always taken cranberry to prevent uti's)

After my daughter was born at 6 weeks I started having some vision problems and took billberry. Then I found out she had some vision problems and I started taking a lutien supplement with Kale, carrots, and some other veggies in it as well as CLO capsules.

I think the supplements have helped her vision not be as bad (she gets them through nursing)

I have a 25% chance of all my children having this vision problem so I am taking prenatal, lutien supplement, cranberry, and sometimes billberry instead of the other lutien supplement. I need to go buy some more CLO capsules too.

So far I'm just taking Trader Joe's Prenatal Vitamin (only one I found with Ferrous glucomate in it) and I used to take cranberry tabs, but they ripped up my stomach. So, I have a cranberry juice concentrate that I water down and drink.

Other than that, I try to get a lot of my vitamins and minerals through nutrition- eating a lot of kale and other veggies, eggs, etc.

I use Rainbow Light Prenatals, one a day. I also take an extra 800 of folic acid.

I had been taking a regular daily multi (from Whole Foods) but I haven't taken it in days. The nausea has just been too bad.

I am using PrimaCare prenatals (?) It's what the doctor gave me. Along with that, I take an additional 3 mg of Folic Acid since I already have one child with a neural tube defect. I'm also continuing to take my probiotics...it really helps with the constipation.

I take a liquid multi called Body Balance from Life Force. I am supposing it will be ok. If it doesn't have all it needs I will go back to the prenatal I was on with my last baby. I really HATE taking pills while preggo. It takes everything in me, just to swallow!

I'm taking a prenatal from walmart : (yea yea yea) and a folic acid. I have a horrible time swallowing pills, so I'm super proud of myself for being able to get the prenatals down. Go me!

I'm taking New Chapter's Perfect Prenatal (awesome, organic whole foods based), extra calcium since I'm still nursing a lot, and omegas because they are just so good me and both the babes.

I know- it takes all I have in me, plus a pep talk just to get the dang thing doen! "Ok throat and stomach- you know the drill. Things are happening down in uterus that necessitate this, and you're just going to have to buck up and deal. Down we go!"

I've been taking my kids organic gummy vits. I can't stand prenatals and didn't take them at all with my older kids. I do eat very well rounded every day so I really don't think much supplementation is neccesary.

I'm taking OneSource prenatal from Wal-Mart.
I am going to start taking vitamin C, E, and Omega 3.

I am taking Rainbow light prenatal and nordic naturals 3,6,9 omega fish oil. I just started the fish oil because the thought of it was really grossing me out for awhile. But it is really easy gelcap to take so its not so bad. For the nausea I am taking a homeopathic med called Sepia. I already noticed a difference and I feel so much better. I also am drinking some liquid acidophilus and its pretty yummy tasting. I got this organic ginger honey stuff, it is soooo freakin nasty but it worked immedietly on my nauseau last night. I gagged when I swallowed it but my nauseau was gone in less than a minute. So if the nauseau is sooo bad I am going to die than I will have to resort to drinking that stuff again. The woman I work for is an accupuncturist and does chinese herbal meds, she gave me a recipe for some crazy microbiotic concoction and I might try that and she is going to bring me some ginger pills to take. As you can tell the nausea has taken over my exixtence.:

I am taking a prenatal from GNC - 2x a day - as soon as they run out I am going to switch to something more natural, maybe the Rainbow Light (I think I used that last time). I also take a lot of Vit C for skin elasticity - didn't get one stretchmark last time (knock on wood!)... I am thinking of taking an additional folic acid supplement too...

I take a prescription chewable prenatal... Natachew, or something. They don't taste great, but I can barely swallow normal pills - let alone huge vitamins.

Rainbow Light one a day for now. I'll probably switch to their regular prenatal vit. which is 6 pills/day (yikes!) but I like being able to space them out through the day. This baby was a surprise so I was taking the one a day since I'm still nursing DS. I'll switch when this bottle runs out

When I get a chance to get to the store I'll pick up some Floradix and some Flax seed oil.

Did you do this last pregnancy? Is that what you attribut the no stretch marks to? I never got a stretch mark either last pg. (knock wood) even though I gained 50 lbs. I thought it was all the healthy oils I was eating?!

For now I'm talking 800 mcg of folic acid and a b-complex (for energy). My homebirth midwife advised me to wait until 12 weeks for pre-natals so we can determine my iron levels first.
