thinking ahead to Chicago - Page 2

I don't think they come out with the fees until a little later in the year, maybe Dec? They usually have it in the last New Beginnings of the year, and on the website. DH came with me last time but he watched dd1 the entire time. If I remember right, you pay the full fee for the first person and then there was another fee for the dads, it was really reasonable, I don't remember what it was, but I remember thinking about paying it just in case.

I'm thinking about it. I missed DC but I did go to SF in 2003.

Same here, I didn't know it would probably be the last. Our local area conference actually made money and we had some exciting speakers. It's too bad the international ones aren't doing so well. Will they still do the Int'l Physician's conferences?

I plan to go. Chicago is only about a 3 hour drive from here and I have never been there before! My DH is thinking that we will bring the whole family down and have a little Chicago fun while we are there for the conference!

We're planning to go. DH has family there we can stay with and we're only about 4 hrs away in downstate IL. So Dh and the kids can visit with family and see the sites while my youngest and I enjoy the conference. I'm really looking forward to it. Other leaders in our group are planning to go as well.

You all have me so excited....I really want to try to go. The only LLL conference I've been to was the Ohio conference earlier in the year, and I LOVED it!!!!

I haven't mentioned going to DH yet....I'll have to prove to him that it won't totally empty our wallets!! Maybe I can convince him to make a week-long trip out of it if the days that we're not at the conference we stay at a hotel that is out of the city and less expensive or something. Anybody from Illinois wh can recommend some fun family things to do? Our kids will be 6, 3, and 1 at the time.

We will drive if we go - I hate flying. I think it will be about a 6-hour drive, which isn't that bad. We drove 4 hours to Cincinnatti to the last conference.

Well, we won't be going, but we live an hour from DC, so of course went last year. We have family out west we need to see extensively, so that's where we're going instead.

I am going!! DH is considering it, but will be doing more Chicago based activities.

I'd love to hook up with someone else who is bringing a SO/DH and plan some stuff for the non attending kids, etc.

Someone had asked about where we were going to park an RV if we rented one - who knows! It was just DH's attempt to get me to say yes to driving.

I have to start making my plans. Reserving a room, plane, etc.

The registration fee is going to be $495. I don't know about additional costs for SO/DHs, etc.

We should have MDC stickers we wear so we'll know one another .

I just submitted the registration! I'm definitely going. My parents live just a few hours from Chicago and it's just a commuter train ride away (much cheaper than parking ... which can be as much as $40/day at the hotel!). DH is so excited about going. It's fun to see him talk about the sessions he signed up for. I can't wait to get back to Chicago, such a great city.
