On my facebook profile (it's sort of like myspace) I have a sentence at the end that says something like "I'm adamately against routine infant circumcision and you should be too." Anyway, yesterday one of my friends asked me why, so I sent her a message back explaining brief reasons with a couple of links (including a video). She wrote back with some questions, I wrote back, she wrote back, i wrote her again and she seems really receptive to the info! She said all the info was really interesting and she had never thought about it before. Then she said something like: How did you get so smart? Seriously, I'm very impressed with all the stuff that you know- you'll be the most informed mom in town.

AND then she told me that she thinks she might be pregnant (with her first, they just started trying). She also said that she'll have me tell her what she needs to do as a preggo mommy-to-be (which she shouldn't need since she has older sisters with children, but yay that she thinks that!).

Oh, and I also created a group called Forekins have a purpose (there were not any anti circ groups) and within a few weeks there were like 6 different groups that other people started after seeing mine! And atleast one person has come on one of the groups and said the video changed her mind, she was horrified! Just had to share!

Oh, thank you! I'm optimistic that the relentess presentation of the truth has turned a corner in public opinion.

I bitch a lot, but I'm truly grateful to have this forum here.

It's so refreshing meeting open minded people who actually are receptive to information!

I had that same experience with my girlfriend who came to visit this past summer...she didn't even know what circ was other than knowing that it's something that certain religions did. Then, I went and explained to her how it started here in the US, we discussed everything, I answered all the questions, showed her pictures and then afterwards she "got it."

She felt pretty bad that likely her brother and dad were circ'd (I told here there's no definite but we both grew up in Mi so there's a higher percentage over there). Anyhow, she shared with me that it was a very informative and educational presentation I had there .

(she's pretty unexperienced and never had a boyfriend either so she was really open minded to everything).
