puffiness?

Anybody else feeling really puffy? My feet have been getting larger for like the last two months, but I swear in the last couple days they've just turned into two giant sausages at the ends of my legs. And my fingers seem like they're so swollen that making a fist is actually uncomfortable. I can even feel it in my forearms!

I have a MW appointment today, so I'll definitely ask them about it. Just wanted to know if anyone out there could sympathize ... it's uncomfortable!

For the past few weeks, my feet (and ankles, and calves) have been incredibly swollen. Fluid retention is the worst. It's very common, and I was told to reduce my salt intake, drink (a lot) of liquids, and lie on my left side, with my feet elevated higher than my head.

Your doctor checks for high blood pressure, protein in your uirine, and fluid rentention in your face. If these things are present, you may be developing pre-E.

I was fine until the last two weeks when I started retaining water like crazy. you can actually see where there are fluid pockets under my skin in addition to the general puffiness! EEeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww!

Doing everything the PP said as well as some teas.

Well, I'm glad it's not just me, but I'm totally sorry for the rest of you too! It's just so uncomfortable.

I too am just ready for the baby to show up. Enough of this pregnancy stuff, it's time to move on to being a mom now.

The positive is that fluid retention (even tho not everyone has it as much as some) is usually a sign of labor being close--I think someone said that you usually retain fluids (more blood, water etc) around 2 wks before labor. It's your body's way of preparing--so take it as a good sign!
I think I retained a lot about 10 days before my dd was born...haven't started retaining yet this time around...
