The Secret Life of Bees

Has anyone here read The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd?

I finished this a week ago and just loved it. I can't get it out of my mind. I love the whole concept of finding the mother within oneself. And I loved all the bee and honey imagery. It is beautifully written and very woman-centered.

I just bought it, but haven't started it yet. It was an impulse purchase at the bookstore last weekend (where I haven't been in months!)

I just need to put the laptop away and start reading during ds' naps....

Oooh -- I really want to read this. I recently read the Dance of the Dissident Daughter by Sue Monk Kidd -- it was really good too.

It is a wonderful book. I hope you love it as much as I did.

I will have to check out Dance of a Dissident Daughter. For some reason I thought Secret Life was her first book.

It is probably her first fiction. The Dance... is a true account of her spiritual journey.

I just read Secret Life of Bees too! I actually read it in one day. Well, I was up until 2 a.m. reading. I just couldn't stop. What a great book. Oh, I also had to fix myself some toast with honey on it about halfway through the book!
