Okay, late in the game here and looking for a pool...does
http://www.canadiantire.com/browse/p...romSearch=true

{can't get the linky button to work}
that look like a possibility? Or is it too...outdoor-y? It looks big enough to me...60 inches wide and about a third that deep.

How deep is absolutely necessary?

Thanks!

I don't think I'd trust a ring pool like that because it's the water that keeps the sides up- Soooooo, you can't lean on the sides. you want one with inflated sides.

Out of what they have this looks best- though I like round better than square:

Just FYI

there is a Canadian supplier of the fishy pool... they sell it for 45.00$
they also have other homebirth supplies if needed

Thanks! It looked like a good idea but I've never used a birth pool before so I just don't know what I'm doing The price looked pretty good to me! I saw that rectangular pool too but I think I want a round one...

Thanks paxe! That's the little fishy pool though - I wonder if anyone carries the big one.

I haven't found a place in Canada that sells the big one...

I wanted something a bit deeper myself which is why I went with "la Bassine" it is a bit more expensive but I love it!! (I did a test run last night!) I also love the fact that it takes less water to fill...

That's cool. The big fishy pool is still a little bigger though I think....

We went to WalFart and bought the Surf N Sun or Sand N Sun whatever it's called Lagoon Pool

It's *like* the large fishy pool without the cushy blowup bottom. But that's ok, DH was able to make the floor under it all cushyfied with foam puzzle mat pieces and padded moving blankets the UAViolation movers left behind.

that's what it is. DD was roughly 30" at the time.

Do you think "walfart" would have pools instock now though?

I talked to my mw today and she said one of their clients has a feed trough I could borrow for free which is cool. Not sure about how I feel about birthing in there yet - but we do live on a farm, so I guess it's sort of appropriate

I went looking for that pool in the summer and they never had it in Quebec... (I went to about 6 different ones) now all their summer stuff is gone so it would really surprise me if you found at this time of the year...

Might not be out on the shelf but if you beg the poor underpaid worker to go into the stock room to check for you, it's worth a shot.
