Waiting mamas thread

I haven't really participated in the ddc, but now that things are getting close, i need the companionship of some other mamas who are eagerly awaiting their VERY close due dates.

I'm so anxious and eager to meet this guy. Two weeks (or more) seems like such a loooooooong time to be thinking "when will it happen?!" all the time. I see a lot of moms on here going early/having "easy" labors, which is encouraging. of course some are also going late as well...

So anyway, nothing specific to say. just wanted to set up a general chat for us. i need something to occupy my mind!

I am due on Sat...I'm sooooooo ready but both my other two were a week late so I'm sure this one will be too!

Still, the wait is sucky, man!

ETA: I just noticed that your dd and my ds were born the same month too! Maybe we can commiserate about how that is when the time comes!

EDD Nov 23 as well...but having lots of 'early' symptoms. But hey, /shrug who knows!

Hang in there!

EDD Nov 18. No signs of anything progressing yet so I'm thinking this little one will come "late". I'm really eager to meet him/her since we don't know the gender yet even.

I'm due Saturday also :-)

I've been ready for about a week now.
If irritability is a sign of impending labor, I must be due to deliver any minute.

Otherwise, I'm prepared for it to be up to a few weeks...
I was late with my first.
But I would love to be early or on time for this one.
Guess there is no since dwelling on it, but I would love to hold my sweetie pie!!!
Good luck waiting everyone.

We don't have a name picked out yet...just curious, have most everyone picked out the name yet, or do you all wait until baby comes and see what he/she looks like!

My EDD is the 26th and I've never been so eager for a day to arrive in my entire life. I am getting more and more impatient with this whole pregnancy thing every day ... the seriously swollen limbs, the constant hunger, the peeing every 20 seconds, the BH contractions that make me think "could this be it???", etc. I'm ready to move on!

And this is my first baby, so I just can't wait to meet it and start being a mama instead of just a pregnant chick!

In answer to your question Erica, we do have names picked out ... one for each ... have since about month two of this pregnancy. It's something DH and I have been thinking about for years, so the fact that we actually get to name our baby is amazingly awesome for us!

No names here...not even an idea really. With my ds we picked out a few names and then named him after birth.

I guess we didn't even get that far this time!

I am due monday (the 13th) so I am getting anxious and impatient also... I was doing ok until the last few days when I just starting feeling awful physically and lost all of my nesting momentum.... We have names picked out, but sometimes you just have to see the baby to know what s/he looks like! I went a little over with dd, so I am hoping it won't be any more than that with this one, because I am ready!!!!!

I was due yesterday and I know all about the waiting game! I keep wondering each day if today is going to be the day! I am ready to see my baby boy. :

EDD the 19th, waiting, thinking, wondering and I too wonder if irritability is a sign of imending labor so does my dh! The baby is getting so big now, i feel legs poking my side. Names.... had a boys name picked out very early on, girl names we had, then couldnt decide then changed then picked one. Superstitious about telling people ahead of time.... also don't want to hear.... what did you name her/him that for????

My ds comes up w/ the funniest names.... the best one "Collie puss" and Bonghi is a close second

I am here I was "due" on Monday
I am still here too! We have a name, and know the sex. Now I just can't wait to have him in my arms instead of my belly.
Was due today, still here and waiting. Going for acu to hopefully kick start things tomorrow. I so don't want to be induced so am doing all I can to avoid it.

I'm still waiting too! Good thread idea

I'm due Nov. 21, but am planning on delivering the baby a little over 2 hours away (over the state line, where homebirths are legal--at The Farm in Tennessee). We are going up there on the 15th to play the waiting game, so I kind of don't want him to come before then. And, we have picked out a name

Due the 15th anxiously waiting like everyone else....paranoid trips to the hospital are driving me nutso!!!

Waiting waiting waiiiiiiting...good thread idea

My due dates were uncertain; one midwife said the 2nd, and the sonographer said the 6th, so i'm trying very hard to be patient. little things are happening, but nothing as dramatic as what i've read about other people prior to labor.:

but my 'real' midwife won't be back in town until next tuesday; in the meantime there is a back-up midwife who I HIGHLY suspect is a medwife holding down the fort at the birth center. so, sensing less than ideal circumstances, my bellydweller is perhaps biding her time until someone we like is around.

I've been taking/inserting EPO and drinking strong concoctions of RRL tea and the traditional medicinals brand Pregnancy tea, and tonight we're going to do the hot compress/breast pump nipple stimulation thing in addition to the rest to see if we can get anything started. I am ready to give birth, my blood pressure was something over 82, a little high for me, at my last BC check up, and I have to sleep sitting up or the baby lies on something and I get dizzy and can't breathe. I am trying to have faith in my body to go into labor on its own, as that this is my first, but i'm still feeling anxious about that...MDC helps a LOT...

My EDD is 11/17, but I was convinced that I would go early! So, a week to go, but many indications that any day could be "the" day - and I'm impatiently waiting! I drank some raspberry tea tonight and no go. Nipple stimulation isn't working, sex isn't working, walking isn't working... Some will say that she simply isn't ready to come out, and so be it.
Still waiting and it's killing me... EDD was Nov. 2nd.

Baby name: We finally got our guy's name resolved a couple days ago.

redstockingma: I so hope you're little one comes soon!!!

brentropy: Unfortunately the nipple stimulation, sex, and walking hasn't worked for us either.

For some reason, this thread wasn't bolded when I just checked in (hence the separate post... sorry!).

I'm due on Sunday. As much as I can't wait to meet the baby, I need to hold off until at least Saturday night now (unless s/he wants to come by noon tomorrow... but I don't think so!). After that, though... I'm ready and excited to meet this little one! I never had a feeling one way or the other with my son as to gender, but this time around, I have a strong feeling it's a girl (as do most others) because my pregnancy has been so different. I'm just wondering if I'm right or not!

We finally (like Monday) decided on a girl's name for sure, the boy's has been set in stone for awhile. Now we just need a baby to name! Hard to believe it has taken this long, but it's FINALLY starting to feel real!!!!!

Wow--there are so many of us. I have killer B-H contrax all the time, some that hurt so much i have to stop what i'm doing to cope. but this happened for like 2 weeks prior to dd, so who knows. (is this what "prodomal labor" is? i keep seeing people using that word on here, but i've never heard that before) I was due on march 7 with her, but went into labor on the 13th (had her on the 16th : ) But i really think my due date this time is a little more accurate. I remember that wait REALLY sucking.
I, too, am drinking lots of raspberry leaf and taking evening primrose oil. i havent inserted any yet. i think i'll start doing that tonight (i'm 38 weeks today).
Tonight i had some horrible back pain--like what it felt like when i was in back labor. i had to do a whole bunch of "hula" type dancing and pelvic rocking and actually wake the baby up and kind of push him around until he moved! It was really uncomfortable--i dont know if he turned posterior for like an hour or what, but it sucked. fortunately i think he's back in his better position.

Has anyone else here had their cervix checked? i know, i know, its totally unrelated to when you will go into labor and you can be 3cm for a month, etc. but still... i have been checking mine just because i need SOMETHING to do. it was really, really soft and felt more open than i've ever felt it.

Still, its so surreal that he will be here so soon. And we've had a name picked out for a long time. I think it helps make it more real for dd. Anyway, i'll be the first to share what it is: Emmett.
