Someone's OB recommended the castor oil at 39 weeks - this surprised me. So damn exhausted... I'm sick of complaining...
ewwwww--dont do it. i've heard it described as "the worst thing that i've ever gone through" in terms of how painful/uncomfortable it is. i think if you aren't ready to go into labor, it won't do the trick, you'll just have horrible intestine cramps and diarrhea

so i passed the mucous plug 2x today...?????? i'm 38w1d so i would be REALLY surprised if i went this early, especially since dd was 9 days late. hmmmmm... but the BHs are getting stronger/more frequent/crampier and (TMI) my bowels have been emptying themselves out...could this be it? i just need to go to bed and try to not think about it.

I just read somewhere that the castor oil can cause the baby to release meconium into the AF; that makes me nervous, and the thought of giving myself diarrhea on purpose isn't all that appealing either. I'm going to stick to my acupressure, exercise and RRL tea, and maybe try some EPO if things get desperate!

I was also "due" 8 days ago! Like you - lots of BH and pressure and cramping. Not much to speak of today, though. I saw the MW yesterday and she said my progress had been really slow (only 1 1/2 cm dilated and cervix still long, but soft). She said go see a chiropractor, an acupuncturist and have a massage! I saw a chiropractor (WONDERFUL!) after the MW appt. and then an accupuncturist (I should not have sat for 2 hours - am afraid it undid the good the chiropractor did : ) , then just got a massage (nice).

Baby - when are you coming??????

I'm here too. I was due on the 5th according to LMP but from our conception date I was due on October 30th or there about. I thought with the third he/she would just slide out but I guess I was wrong.

I did have some great bloody show this morning which was very encouraging and more early labor contrax that got more painful with nipple stimulation but died out when I got up.

I'm laying down now trying to get them to start up again so I can take some black and blue cohosh in homeopathic form but who knows what will happen.

At least I have some Netflix.

Come on baby come on!!

augh...this is so annoying. i've now had pieces of the mucous plug come out 3 times, 2 yesterday and one this am. i had cramps all night. but now i'm just sitting here not feeling anything. i wish i knew what was going on...if i'm going to go into labor soon or if i'm just going to walk around at 4cm dilated for 2 weeks or what. i know i shouldnt complain because my due date is still almost 2 weeks away, but when i saw that plug, it made me feel like it could happen at any moment.

I'm still waiting due 20th and NO darn contractions yet:

I am about 37.5 weeks today and filled with mixed feelings. Part of me will miss haivng my daughter all to myself and yet I'm excited to meet our new little one. I also have to go in to the hospital for a BPP 2x/week and it is pure torture. Every time I go in I'm afraid they will find something wrong and I'll be admitted. But it is this or schedule a repeat c-section. I'm also a bit nervous over which midwife will be on duty. It is a practice of 4 and I really like 2 of them.

Nevertheless, I'm trying to find ways to relax and take my mind off my worries and stresses! My doula has been great through all this and keeping me focused on planning for when things go right rather than dwelling on what could go wrong. I'm actually curious about labor. I did go into labor last time (I was induced) and dialated to about 6cm, but it was all back labor and my contractions were never regular so I've no idea what to expect or what it will be like to go into labor on my own. One of the midwives thinks the baby is pretty low and keeps asking if I've felt any contractions. But nothing yet. Just some cramping and that rock hard belly. But since my first was a leap year baby, I'm thinking this one will be here at Thanksgiving!

And one more thing -we still haven't found any names that really inspire us. So we may be bringing her home without a name!

We don't have any names that inspire us either! :

Our DD wasn't named for at least 3 weeks...so...who knows? : Once we meet him/her and see whether it's a girl or boy - then we'll at least be able to narrow down our choice a bit!

Okay if my MIL calls one more time today to ask "how we are doing" I am going to reach through the phone and strangle her!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dh is really firm with her...do not keep calling...we will call you...
so she called again from my FIL cell phone to my dhs cell phone...sneaky!

She is "worried" because its my due date and I'm not in labor!!! This woman had three children...and the other two grandkids have been late...she has no excuse for being so clueless!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad we are having a home birth because when my ds was born she showed up at the hospital at 6am the next day...he was born close to midnight and the nurse let her in!!! No way is that happening in my own home!

Eden...at least your MIL has called.

DH even said the other night, "WTF! My mom has not even called us to see if the baby was born!" :

Granted....she is suppose to be here for the birth, but to not even check in!

I'm 41 weeks today, still no bloody show or mucus. This is my 3rd baby, but I have no experience with being "late," and it's driving me crazy! Baby #1 was induced at 39 weeks 5 days due to PIH. Baby #2 came on her own at 39 weeks 3 days. I have no idea why things are taking so long this time! I have been having contractions for WEEKS, but it never turns into labor. Here's hoping our babies come soon!!

Hahahah!
My MIL called once in the past month or so to ask if I had the baby--it just so HAPPENED to be around the time my dh 'accidently' spilled the beans on our homebirth plans...see he is deployed, and rarely talks to them, but I guess he told his dad not to come to visit me because they'd have no where to stay since I was birthing HERE...so now I think she was 'checking' to get some info on that...then she has called and left messages to ask what location her son is in....she has been told, but can't remember...and she wants to go visit him...oh--and take his sister and her child too...hmmm...does this sound strange to anyone else that she is thinking of or worrying about hopping on a plane to visit her son (who can't have her there anyways--he has a roommate etc...no where for them to stay etc) and doesnt even ask about us here?
Having said all of that...I am VERY thankful no one is calling and bugging me (yet) about 'have ya had that baby yet' or anything! I find that annoying and RUDE!

Hi Ladies. I haven't participated here either, but now I'm at 41 weeks too and just waiting... No signs, really. Just mild cramping here and there. If I walk it gets pretty bad and I've been walking over a mile each day. But when I get home, the cramping stops.

I've been nesting for about a month but had a really good yarn organizing session last night. DH came in the room and his eyes got big when he saw the bed covered with yarn and storage containers everywhere, he said we were going to have the baby that night. I even searched the basement for two long lost piles of yarn!

Tonight I went for some reflexology/acupressure. Hope it works.
So far, no mucous or show at all...

Going for an NST on Tuesday...

Good and safe births to everyone!

i am also late and doing the waiting game. although my EDD was just yesterday i feel that i am about to go nuts considering my 1st came a week early so naturally i have felt overdue for about 2 weeks now. my dad kept saying that i would have her on halloween since my 1st was born on thanksgiving and he said i would have the holiday babies even though my due date wasn't until 11/10/06. I have gotten very irritable and frustrated because i am so tired of being pg and either go to bed in tears or wake up in tears because she still hasn't come yet. the best advice is to not get worked up and think about it but that is a lot easier said than done. my MOM of all people tried to tell me to be patient knowing that it just isn't possible when your in pain and everytime you move or stand up or turn over in bed that your pelvis is going to pop or rub together and that is sooooooooo painful. she was also late with my 3 sisters. one of my sisters was a month late and she cried everyday too so i don't really see how she gets that i can be PATIENT!!!!! but anyway i'm right there with the rest of you and as for names we have had a boys and a girls name picked out since about the 2nd month and we are told we are having a girl but just in case have a boys name picked too.
