So, who have you told? DH and a handful of friends

How did they react? Pleasantly surprised I guess I would say. They thought we were done

Who are you telling next and when? My mom, very soon I think. Also the kids maybe next week when DH is in town

How do you think they'll react? Kids will be excited I think. My mom will be surprised.....I think she will be happy for me but for some reason I am not looking forward to telling her.

We've only told 2 of my friends IRL because I needed both of them to care for DS when I went to the dr (plus, one of them is an MDC mama and saw my announcements here... but I would have told her anyways ). They were both very excited for us, since they've known we've been TTC for months.

I can't wait to tell our families over Thanksgiving! That will be fun because they have been frequently asking when we're planning for the next one. They basically know we've been TTC though we haven't been explicit about it . We're going to have DS wear an "I'm going to be a big brother" t-shirt.

I'm looking forward to telling all our other friends who all know we want another DC, but DH really wants to wait until after we've told our families and after we see an u/s or hear a heartbeat... I guess I feel the same way, since this pg still seems like such a dream.

I'm not looking forward to telling my graduate advisor (I'm a grad student and have been working on my PhD for years)-- she'll be happy for me but very concerned about what this will mean for my dissertation. I'm going to wait until January for that one!

We have told: my parents, dh parents, my sister, an aunt, a cousin, and all of my freinds

We will tell next; the rest of our extended family (mil will take care of all dh extended family)


Everyone has been so excited for us. Only a couple of people knew we were trying, so some were surprised some were not.

I have told my side of the family.. there was a mixture of responses mainly good a bit of shock, we are on number 4 and everybody thought we were done. We weren't trying so both of us were shocked eventhough I really really wanted another.

Next we will tell dh's family. He is still in shock so I am not sure he could get the words out of his mouth yet. He keeps looking at me funny.

none of our family and friends know yet except for one friend that has no connection to any of my other friends and family.

We are also planning on our little girl wearing a shirt on Thanksgiving that says, "I'm the big sister!" We live out of town of most our family but everyone should be together that day on both sides even so it will be the perfect time to tell everyone.

We have a picture of our little girl digging through the drawers in our room and holding a pregnancy test too so we will probably use that picture in an email somehow to tell most our friends.

So, who have you told? My husband, of course. Online friends. One IRL friend. My kids.

How did they react? Hubby was excited. I was so pleased with his response. We're sitting there pondering the news and he splurts out "I'm SO happy" with so much sincerity, like it just slipped from his mind to his lips. : It was so heartwarming.
My online mama friends all jump for joy because we're all baby crazy of course.
I hadreally really wanted to wait to tell me kids til Christmas. I had a great plan too. *pout* But I gave in and told them . . . I was just feeling so guilty for not being a very good mom because of my morning sickness and exhaustion, and I wanted to let them know why. They are so excited, of course. My oldest cried, which shocked me, but they were happy tears she assured me. She is thrilled with the news. My four year old is very excited also but has no concept of time and thinks the baby could come tomorrow. My two year old is positively clueless. Poor dear, has no idea how much her little life is going to change.

Who are you telling next and when? The In-laws will have to be told at some point. They love children and are big family people, but we're not in the best place financially for more children so it's kind of uncomfortable telling them, just like it was with the others. I'm dreading it.

How do you think they'll react? Oh no and Oh yay all at once.

Just had to add that I told my kids this morning. I had planned to wait until DH got home from a trip, but they overheard half a phone conversation so I couldn't really wait. They are SO excited. My 9yo dd is planning everything. Sleeping arrangements. Furniture moving. Birth plans. Who gets to name the baby (she does if it is a girl, ds if it is a boy) I just let them go with their enthusiasm because it was so fun. DD had to call her best friend (her mom already knew) but I guess that means the secret is officially out. I' glad they know ecause it seems alot more real now.

: DH told my MIL this morning.. needless to say she didn't have a very nice reaction. We're both pretty upset with her but I am not going to stress over it because we are happy and my family is happy.
