I'd like to know as well- I just got back from my dr and I've gained 10 lbs since last year, plus my blood pressure is higher. It's hard for me to exercise due to Fibromyalgia so I think I need to focus on what and how much I'm eating.
Walking was the one thing that I used to be able to do easily, but since spraining my ankle in November I have trouble with that as well. My ankle IS healing, but slowly, and I still can't do as much walking as I used to be able to do. I suspect that's why I've gained the weight.
I've also not been 100% on traditional foods. I personally found that easier in the wintertime when I made a lot of broth-based soups. Now it's just too hot to cook anything- and pasta cooks up so much faster than dried beans!
Ok, it looks like there have been a lot of suggestions to cut back on sugars and grains. How can I do that on a budget? Are beans still OK?
