It seems the members of my college's Social Work Association cannot praise this movie enough. Has anyone seen and would like to comment?

I have heard of it, but not seen it. I will see if Netflix has it and get back to you!

Do you mean Los Ninos Invisibles (2001)? Here is the synopsis on Netflix:

"An elderly man reminisces about the 1950s, when he was a little boy living in a small town and fell in love with a neighbor girl. Fearing that he would not measure up to the girl's expectations, he used an array of magic tricks in an attempt to make himself invisible. This charming tale of youth in rural Colombia was that nation's Best Foreign Film submission to the 2002 Academy Awards."

It looks good.

I think LLobsterTV is talking about this movie.

It looks like a wonderful movie- I haven't seen it though.

I haven't seen it but I want to. I went to a Third Day concert a couple of weeks ago and they talked a lot about it there!

If you go to their website they have showings listed. It's showing in my town Friday night and I'm going to try to go!

I just ordered this film to use at work and I watched it last week with a group of foster parents who exclusively parent refugee youth (that come into the U.S. without parents or family). They absolutely loved the film and I have to agree that it was really very well done.

The one thing that bugged me at first was that it was done by a group of kind of annoying (at least they seem so in the beginning of the film, and I actually did fast forward the first 8 minutes of the 60 minute film when showing it to the foster parents), privileged kids from the U.S. ...however, after a few minutes I realized that however annoying they were, it was good that they were doing something. What they did do was a lot more than most other people do, let alone a bunch of young, privileged white college kids.

And as the film went on it got really good. It was sad, and it made me angry..but it also made me want to do something.
