I've been keeping my plans to birth at home hush-hush because I didn't want to invite any comments/debates etc. amongst my family and friends who don't really know or understand my choices. I just thought I'd mention it after the baby was born.
Today I was on the phone with my Dad discussing my boys' B-day and how he wanted to get them a power-wheels vehicle. (OMG that's a seperate issue in and of itself LOL) Part of the convo was how I don't want to take any broken limbed-children to the hospital here and have to deal with them in any fashion as I HATE this hospital with a passion and if we brought a hurt child there it's likely I'd get the Canadian version of CPS called on me again. (Another long story LOL)
My dad said "Well you're going to have to go to the hospital to pop the baby out." and I said "Not necessarily." He asked if that meant I was going to have the baby at home, but before he answered he interrupted and said "Oh that's right you have a Midwife! I forgot. I guess you won't have to worry about that then." It sounds like it was a negative comment in writing, but the tone of voice he said it in and how he said it sounded so positive (He's been upset by some of the things our hospital did to us as and our kids as well and we'd asked them to be the backup care provider for out kids during the CPS investigation if it went through which it never did.) that I was very pleasantly suprised.
That was all of his comments on it. Not another thought.
I was so relieved and shocked that it wasn't a big deal and for my family that's a HUGE deal.
Just thought I'd share

That's wonderful! Not sure what my parents are saying about me behind my back, but they're super supportive of us, too! Go parents!!!!!
