I know she's 3 1/2 and it's all within the "norm" but yikes! We went to visit friends for the weekend and she left all her coping skills at home Every little thing that annoyed her led to instant hitting me or dh. : : Her yelling and general nastiness has escalated lately & she even had her first "tough" day at daycare last week.

I just need to know this is another one of those infamous 3 year old "phases" and this too shall pass!

Off to find a glass of wine!

Hmmm... mine is also 3.5 and he's been hitting SOOO much lately! I am also very tired of it! He BIT my sister the other day (she is his nanny) because she told him he couldn't do something. Argh. This is a child who's never been hit IN HIS LIFE. I don't get it.

I have an 8 year old who is a chronic hitter. She gets a little better, and then regresses. It is her primary tension reliever: I must say she is trying very, very hard to stop. Unfortunately, it is not soon enough because now her 3-1/2 year old brother has learned from the master, including her patented "walk-by hitting" -- no provocation necessary! Yikes, I just have no idea what to do. Good luck!

to you mamas!! knowing i'm not alone is helpful in itself! i'm getting the "hands are not for hitting" book tomorrow (she loves reading) and we discuss discuss discuss. (where's that exhausted smilie when you need one? )

when i dropped her off at daycare this morning i said she's been a bit "free" with her hands. dcp said the same has been happening there she can be sooooo sweet & she's pretty amazing to other people 99% of the time, but of course, saves her worst stuff for me. I keep telling myself that it's because she feels safest with me & dh but it still stinks!

any and all suggestions will be considered!!!

This is DS. He hits Me (Not DH) when he gets mad but he is not exposed to any violence.

she had a good day at daycare today!!! : of course, i had told her that if she keeps hitting at daycare she couldn't go to special olympics with my mom tonight it's some kind of phase & it's just stinky. i'm ordering the books "hands are not for hitting" and "mean soup" tonight, so we'll start reading them a lot!
