Mucous plug?

Hey ladies,
This morning I woke up and lost my mucous plug (well a lot of it). It was clear - no blood. I'm 40 weeks 4 days today and LOTS of pressure, af like cramps. My dates are VERY accurate as we did an IUI to concieve. What do you think? Will I be in labour soon? I'm sort of climbing the walls! Thanks!!

Oohhhh, I am so jealous!:

I've heard of people going for days, sometimes weeks after losing it. My espeience with dd was that I pretty much starting contracting right away.

sounds like you are very close!
I lost it in the early stages of labor with DS1
and I lost it 10 days BEFORE I had DS2
but your already 'over your due date' so I'd say soon!

I lost my non-bloody plug 3 days ago (friday). it can feel very discouraging. i know with dd i was in labor very shortly after losing it. trying to relax and take it in stride...

With my dd, I lost my mucous plug in the morning, and I went into real labor later that afternoon (I had a morning of strange cramping, early labor).

short update!

Thanks mamas for all your wisdom. I started contrating and am in early labour. have been all day pretty well. I did not realize these were contrations (never felt them before) but midwife did confirm. Its a waiting game now. Wish me lots of luck hope you all get your little ones real soon (on time!) including me!

There's no emoticon for jealous--maybe this guy i've lost pieces of my plug every day (including today) since friday. today i've felt totally high/trippy all day and having BH contrax, but they really never hurt or feel like latent labor has started. its annoying...pre labor, false labor, whatever you want to call it. i wish things would get underway or just go away!

When I was in early labor I lost my mucous plug (clear) at 8 pm the previous nite and by 6 am the next morning I was in active labor. It also started with cramps that just got more intense and intense. I was 40w5d preg.
