I am so excited about this book!! Anyone have the chance to read it yet? I believe it came out just a few weeks ago.
I have three daughters (no sons) and I had planned on using chapters in "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" as part of my daughters education on what their bodies are doing. I am thrilled that Toni Weschler has come up with a book that focuses on teens. I had been hopeing she would every since I read TCOYF. (6 years ago)
I plan on starting BEFORE my girls get their cycles though. Why wait till 14?

Pre-order Cycle Savvy from Amazon.comCYCLE SAVVY is designed to teach teenage girls from 14 -18 what's really happening with their bodies on a daily basis, including demystifying every aspect of a maturing young woman's menstrual life, from the "what" and "why" of her cervical secretions to the cyclical nature of her moods. Most girls - and even women -don't know the answers to questions like: * How can I accurately predict when I will get my period? * Will worrying about a late period only delay it? * If my cycles are rarely 28 days, am I still normal? * Why do I crave chocolate on some days and feel sharp pains on others? * Why do I feel like I'm leaking in my underwear every few weeks?! Enriched by confidence-building puzzles, Q&As, brain teasers, first-person stories of embarrassing "female" moments every girl can relate to, and graphic visuals, CYCLE SAVVY extends to our daughters the author's mission to empower women by giving them the fullest possible understanding of this essential and pervasive aspect of who they are. And to help celebrate the release of this ground-breaking work, Weschler's bestselling Taking Charge of Your Fertility will be released simultaneously in a tenth-anniversary edition, complete with state-of-the art updated information. |
