Father, because of my decision to home birth:
"That is the most selfish thing I have ever heard in my life! Don't you have any regard for your husband or your son? No. Instead you are only thinking about yourself. I just buried my son. And now you are going to die or your baby will die, and I will have to bury you too."

That was in July. I have had little to say to him since.

First thing Henna artist hired for Blessingway asked me as I bared my belly for her to paint:
"Are you having triplets?"

When I told my mother I wasn't going to automatically have another c-section, she asked me "Well how's the baby going to come out?". : Do I need to tell a woman who has three kids how the baby comes out? As if I don't have any other opening that the baby could come out of.

[While having a contraction, right after MW exam, and trying to walk and not 'pee my pants' as I really felt the need to go again...I was doing the 'weevel wobble walk, and having to pause from the pressure and BH ctx...]

'So why are you walking that way?' Erm...I'm 38 weeks pregnant??!

AllisonR,

I'm so sorry your dad feels that way and what a horrible thing to say to you!
EVEN if he's just worried about your safety, that's terrible!

Or your perinatalogist hasn't ever seen a range of women and babies.... aren't we ALL different shapes and sizes?!!

I'm small, my children carry very small and I'M ACTIVE, HEALTHY AND FIT- so back off!

I'm sorry, citymama, that was super insensitive of the perinatalogist to say. What a creep.

I had a woman at church say that to me in the bathroomw/ my first dc. I wanted to take a pin and pop her:

My favorite so far is the one at the apple orchard on halloween day, the cashier looks at me & my son, both wearing orange of course. Oh mommy's having a pumpking too, and when are you due. I say soon, she looks at me with horror and says TODAY???!@!!.
Yeah like I'd ask HER for help w/ my labor and AS IF labor/delivery happens in a 5 minute span while buying apple cider & donuts?:

Last night at the store, two completely different people told me I was going to pop. I'm 42 weeks tomorrow, so perhaps they can be excused.

my shirts aren't exactly covering my belly anymore & I have given up on pulling them down constantly - an older lady said "you better cover up! you're going to freeze that baby in there!" - yeah right - she's a little heat box!!

I think I got more popping / any day now comments a month ago than I get now...gotta love how our bellies are eveyone's business!! I keep running into the same people & they are shocked every time to see me still pregnant...

it'll come folks! hopefully sooner than later
