so many books SOUND good ina short blurb on Amazon.com

but

then are toooo main stream -- toooo Feber or just toooo out of step with our "ap" parenting.

Anyone ready any of the following....can you tell me if I will find them opposed to our nurse on cue, co-sleeping, anti-CIO, hope to have a peaceful home approach to parenting.........????

or are they just -- not any good -- or are the great and worth reading?

The Happiest Toddler on the Block

Peaceful Parents, Peaceful Kids: Practical Ways to Create a Calm and Happy Home

Biblical Parenting by Crystal Lutton,

Playful Parenting (Paperback) by Denise Champman-Weston

Grace-Based Parenting (Hardcover) by Tim Kimmel

Playful Parenting by Lawrence J. Cohen

TIA -- any insight would be great -- i loooove books but hate to be upset oce i get them (espically as hard as i have to fight to find 10 miuntes to read)

Since these are all parenting books, you should also ask over in Gentle Discipline.

Playful Parenting by Lawrence Cohen is fantastic!

Another popular author for parenting stuff on MDC although I haven't personally read his books, is Alfie Kohn.

The only one I read was Playful Parenting by Lawrence Cohen... I got it from the library & read 95% of it...I do have Happiest Baby on The Block ( not, Toddler) & it is good- pretty much an easy read.

The only other "kid books" I have read is "Hold Onto Your Kids" & "Einstein didn't Use Flashcards"... both were good... Oh yeah and someone gave me "The Girlfriends Guide to Toddlers" & I didn't really like it much... not sure why just not really my style, I guess.

Good Luck!

I loved Einstein didn't use flashcards. In about a year the cousins'll be old enough for us to start trying out the games with them.
