I had genital warts as a young adult. They went away on their own and I have never had them again. 30+ years later. I went to the Gyn for a yearly pap and they did a HPV test. It came back negative and you know what she didn't say anything about it being an STD. She told me it was a new test to screen for early detection of cervical cancer.
Shoot if I had known HPV was and STD I wouldn't have gotten the test. I have had the same monogomous partner for 23 years. I hate when they don't really inform you. I am not going back to this doc for this and a number of other reasons.
