I decided that we should go to the hospital, so we headed out. On less than 1.5 hours sleep, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl this morning at 8:47 AM - 3 minutes short of 12 hours of labor (and only about 9 minutes of pushing!).
Mikaela Gabrielle Eleanor W is 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 19.5 inches long. She's nursing great, sleeps (holy cow - newborns sleep? I didn't know this after my son!), and is just a real joy to us! We're home now, and I'm so glad to be in our own home and to be sleeping in our own bed tonight - even though the hospital staff was incredible.
We weren't automatically admitted when we arrived this morning - we were in triage and had to walk the unit for a few hours until they felt we had progressed enough to stay. Laboring in the jacuzzi tub was wonderful (that was where I got my sleep), and just as last time, the nurses were reminding the doctor of my birth plan as we went along. VERY intense labor, though - I think I progressed so much in the tub that being back on land was a shock to me!
