Any Ideas on how to make fleece gloves?

I want to make fleece gloves. I have patterns for mittens but my boys want gloves. Any help would be appreciated.:

Cut out 2 hand shapes, then cut out a long strip to go from the edge of the pinky over the fingers and down in between to connect the two hand shapes, ending in sort of a taper on the side of the thumb.
