When we moved into our house four and a half years ago, the current owners left a swingset/playland. We kept it, as I was pg with ds at the time, and the dd came along 19 mo. later, so it was great to have.
Now, the kids have outgrown it, and dh is very eager to plant flowers or some other kind of wonder landscape type of thing there. The problem is, what do we do with the swingset?
It's all metal, and could probably be taken apart, but the garbage here (Chicago) won't take it, even if it's broken down. I called a metal scrap yard and they said they'd take it, but we had to bring it to them. We own a Honda Civic, so that's not possible. To rent a truck around here is expensive.
Has anyone ever managed to get rid of these sorts of things? Or, can they be donated to some place?
I have visions of the kids being teens, with the swingset still in the yard.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
