Paint for Tot's Table?

I bought an unfinished set of wooden chairs and a table for my toddler from Ikea and would like to paint them with something that is durable, can be washed, and is pretty non-toxic... any recommendations? TIA!

You could use chalkboard paint on the top.

i bought an unfinished table and chairs about 4 years ago and painted them with sherwin williams zero VOC Harmony paint in semi-gloss. i got a light red (pinkish), bright blue, and butter yellow. the shades they can make in the zero VOC are not quite as intense as the ones they can make in the stinky paint, but i got the deepest shades they could mix. then i set some aside and mixed them so i also had green and peach and a gray/violet. dd1 and i painted that table and chairs all those colors. we painted it solid colors and then splatter painted on top. it looks really great. we still use it everyday. the girls do art on it and eat on it. the semi-gloss wipes right up with a wet rag. since it's splatter painted it can take a lot of abuse and it hides other paint/craft spills well (the occasional fingernail paint or acrylic paint). i've been really happy with it.
