nestle ads and ads for circ info that promotes circumcision? adult diapers?free strollers? all the reasons to vax? how does vaxxing promote public health? babycenter?

we aren't allowed to talk about babycenter, but we can click on something to go there?

we can't talk about our very own sex lives, but we have to see erectile disfunction ads, right next to ads promoting circumcision?

where did my mothering go? I'm seriously tearing up here.

yep, you need firefox and then AD BLOCKER PLUS

Tho that doesnt really deal with the fact that these are not ads that should be on MDC, i dont see what positive ads are going to come out of google

I agree, I'm just glad no coffin ads etc have turned up in the greif and loss area.

regardless of how many ways there are to block these ads for individual computers/users, they shouldn't be here at all. It's not a matter of what we can block, it's about maintaining our values, which we have been told, don't include promoting circumcision and vaxxing.

Yeah, you guys nailed that one. It sure doesn't sound like these should be here at all, blocked or not. I am sorry that so many are having to deal with them. :

Why isn't a thread warning new members to ignore the pro-circ ads "to the left" ON TOPIC in the Case against Circumcision forum??!!????

I guess I'll start a new thread.

The circ ads are still showing up. How incredibly sad.

Allegedly, they have been testing the ads for two weeks, reporting the bad ones like Pampers and Huggies...yet these horrible circ ads still got through?

isnt it ironic that all the mods are having to go close down all the threads re: the google ads??? doesnt that tell you (meaning TPTB) somethgin about what your clientelle here want?

i woudl rather pay $10-$20 a year for a sub to this board than see this stuff here. i go to the vax forum to see information on vaccines, not to see some mainstream ads to the left that tell me vaccines are just great and that they will save children's lives if i donate $$$. how can we here advocate one thing and then have ads that advocate the opposite.

I just received the book "Vaccines: the issue of our times", edited by Peggy O'Mara. is she really OK with such ads being on this board?

i have seen so many ads here that are so anti-NFL.

Okay, I am HORRIFIED at these ads. Circumsision ads? Formula ads? Stroller Ads? Babycenter ads? Yuk! Yuk! Yuk! I have a paid membership, and I STILL SEE CRAPPY ADS!! And, even if I didn't have a paid memebership, I don't think this is fair. New moms come to Mothering to get away from this mass amount of mainstream influence and are bombarded with THIS??

You do realise that the more we complain about c*irc the more c*irc ads we get right?
At the moment I see 2/4 next to this page.
Google ads work by analysing the text on the page to choose "relevant" ads, of course their computers have no idea if our c*irc refs are positive or negative.

Regardless, I think these Google ads are fulfilling all of our worst fears.

plus.....there are alot of MIN on the HH thread...they cant afford bills let alone a sub to here......i'm not a MIN and I can't afford it.
