I just got a killer deal at an REI garage sale on a waist and shoulder pad strap set. I thought that I could sew a carrier much like the ergo with these. Has anyone tried this? I have never seen an ergo up close, so I am not exactly sure how the sleeping hood works. Does anyone know how heavy the canvas is? I'll post pics if I am successful. I love love the ergo and wish I could buy one, but alas, I can't justify the funds with Christmas coming up. I am hoping that this will work out. Any advice you have would be appreciated.
