So restless at night-what can I do for him?

Hi girls-
Spencer is almost 3 1/2 months old. We are co-sleeping, and in the last week I've noticed changes in his sleep pattern. It used to be that he'd eat maybe 2 times a night, but now he's very restless, waking up quite often wanting to nurse. Is this a growth spurt? I don't know what to make of it, but I want to help him! Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Megan

no help here, but glad you posted as we're going through a similar thing. DS is almost 11 weeks old and we're co-sleeping. we used to have pretty mellow nights...we nused on and off, but DS was calm. in the last few nights though, he's a lot more animated and restless and grunty...

i'm not sure what's going on either, we wonder if it could be early teething because he's got other signs of that...

sorry i can't offer advice, but hugs your way!

DD has also been more restless and head tossy while falling asleep and while waking up for the last few weeks (she's now 13 weeks). We had given up on swaddling her since she would wiggle out her little arms in seconds but have recently found that double swaddling her has helped her sleep peacefully. I don't know if they go thru a growth spurt at 3 1/2 months or not, but I know there is a "wonder week" at around 12 weeks and 17 weeks. Someone from this forum mentioned this book to me, and I have yet to get it, but always check this website (the wonder week page anyways) when I am suspicious....and she usually is due for one!

Oh my gosh- we just started the same thing w/ Erin 3 nights ago! She's been a little more gassy at night than usual (might have had something to do w/ a certain salad, heavy on the garbonzo beans that I ate), but since you guys are going through it too, I bet it's something developmental.

Hang in there mamas!

Burp and Fart them well-- Don't just feed them lying down, sit up and let them get a good, long feeding rather than lots of little snacks. thats my .02

I swaddled Spencer last night, and that seemed to help. I'd gotten away from it because he's getting so BIG and can wiggle out of my best efforts. I used my miracle blanket, and he slept really well, until he woke up wet at about 4am and I had to change his jammies and everything. But I'll do that again tonight, and make sure to get a change in so he doesn't wet through.
Are you girls still swaddling??

the fact the i just found 2 teeth might have something to do w/ it! i should try swaddling again though.
