How do I hand sew an opening?

As in . . . I have made a pillow cover or something else that had 2 pieces sewn together--with a small opening for turing it right-side out. Then, once I have turned it right-side out, how do I sew that little opening shut so that it doesn't show? I'd like to learn how to do this very neatly. Can anyone explain, or point me to a web page that shows how?

Thanks.

Using a ladder stitch will be the most invisible. It is really just a running stitch sewn from between the layers of fabric. You can also use a slip stitch which is more popular I think, but it is also more visible.

Of course, match your thread color, use one strand if appropriate, and the smallest needle that works with your project.

Disclaimer, I googled the above links to find diagrams, I don't really know anything about those websites.

Thanks for the links--that is just what I was looking for! I printed them out & will try.
