Kate Quinn Organics? Worth it? Trustworthy?

I know there was a thread before, but what was the verdict reached on Kate Quinn? Is this a trustworthy company? Good quality clothes?

Also....I remember something being said about the sizing being large. Ds normally wears 24 month sizing (he's 10 months) in "regular" clothes. They turn out to be a bit long sometimes, but we need the room in the rear and the waist. With shoes they usually work out just fine. I was thinking about getting size 12-18 at Kate Quinn. Would that be likely to fit?

Just looking for feedback before I break out the charge card : It's a little expensive to make a mistake about this company. Cute stuff though, huh?

I really like Kate Quinn. I think they are a great company. She was always quick to answer my questions and even threw in a freebie. I know a while back a few complained about customer service and she replaced the clothing and gave on top of that. I think I remember seeing that they had gotten different customer service.

Sizing wise...It is weird.

My ds who wear 3T tops and 2T bottoms fits in all sizes of KQ. He fits in the 3T t-shirt but can fit into the 12-18 months in jacket and pants. My younger ds who wears 6-12 is swimming in KQ 6-12.

I feel like the t-shirts are cut weird. My dh says a 70's look. I love my track jacket and pants though.

I hope some of this helped

I love my Kate Quinn outfits! They are so soft and the colors are fabulous. I find DS's outfits get even softer after each wash! The sizes do run a little big but not so much so that DS cannot wear the typical size he's in. I've met Kate and she is a sweetheart! The clothes are fabulous and I can't wait to buy some new stuff for my DD arriving in April '07!

I LOVE kqo. Their things are soooo beautiful. They run true to slightly large, but I think it's just confusing when a 7 month old normally wears 12-8m in most brands but then can fit into a 3-6m in KQO which if you think about it makes a lot more sense really.....
I've found their sizing chart to be pretty true.
Anyhow, I have a coupon code; Holidaykqo; it's good for 20% off any orders over 55$ (I think).
Dh loves the stuff because he thinks it's dignified and respectable looking as opposed to fluffy. I know it's designer, but I think it's hipster too.
If you need to place an order, call it in, I always do. They have things in stock that aren't on the site and if you ask for Tanya, she'll do backflips for you and probably throw in a free tee and can go over sizing with you so you won't make a mistake ordering and I've asked if she could send it out same day and she did.
My only complaint is that they run out of their stuff so if I see it in the size I want, I can't think on it for long.

Oh what a great post!!!!
I've been meaning to place an order but I was worried about the off sizing. I too have a 9 month old in 18-24 month clothing-and the legs can be long.
So this really helped!
I can't wait to place my order.

I'm not very happy with my experience with them. There was a thread here before about their bad service but a rep came on the thread and everyone said they had changed and it was safe to order from them now so I took a chance. I ordered about $60 worth of product from them. One item was a pair of 12-18 months pants. The company emailed me saying they were out of that size and suggested the next size down saying they ran a size big. I emailed them back IMMEDIATELY saying the next size down would be good. They responded right back saying they would get my order out to me with the change.

When my package arrived the invoice had a handwritten note on it that said they tried to contact me about being out of the size I ordered but that I "did not respond to their attempts". I thought that was rather odd and rude since I did respond right away and they acknowledge my response, but whatever. Well anyway the pants were still HUGE. The sizing was totally bizarre. I ordered another pair of 6-12 months pants (different style) that fit perfectly. I could not physically get these pants to stay up - no where near close. My son was over a year old and I wrote them to see if I could exchange them for a size 3-6 months. Ridiculous I know but that is how GINORMOUS these pants were. I think the rise was 21 inches, lol. I emailed them repeatedly and got no response. So then I began calling them. The woman who answered said she would have someone call me who knew how to handle that kind of thing and I gave her my phone number and my email address. I never heard back. Eventually I called again and the woman said they would get the 3-6 months pants out to me. I waited and waited and nothing came. I called again and they said the pants were on back order but that they would get them out to me as soon as they came in and she said they would throw in a free brown t-shirt for the inconvenience. I kept waiting. Some time later I got an email saying that the pants were still backordered and that they wanted to do a refund instead and for me to go ahead and send the pants back (I was waiting for the exchange). No apology. So basically I got to wait all that time(months) for nothing and then *I* had to PAY to send them back and hope I get a refund b/c it was too late to dispute the charge if not. And I no longer got a free shirt for my inconvenience.

It wasn't like I just didn't like the pants. They were GROSSLY mislabeled. I decided to just stop fighting it and send the pants back like they asked but my dh had just deployed then I got sick then my kids, etc etc and I ended up not getting the chance so I'm stuck with these unusable pants. In their defense I didn't contact them back to see if I can still get a return. It has just been so long and I don't have the energy to try anymore. I spent way too much of my life calling and emailing these people. I give up. The pants were only $24. Not a lot in the grand scheme of things but way more than I normally spend on a pair of baby pants.

Kate Quinn Sizing and More

I carry Kate Quinn Organics at my baby and kids shop. I agree that the sizing runs large. There is some shrinkage, but not too much. I really love her stuff and think its great that there are more and more organics out there in clothing because cotton is one of the most sprayed crops. By using organics you avoid contributing to that spray, as well as keep your kids and yourself away from any off-gassing or irritation that might exist because of it.

I love Kate's colors, but I'd love to see her do some prints now.

At any rate, I am moving out her winter line because I've got tons of her spring stuff coming in, all the way up to size 8. So please visit my online store if you want to get some at good deals.

I'm not trying to be all sales-y, as believe me, I own just a small store in a small town and its all to support my kids and do something good in the world. But I also have to let folks know we're out here, so, although this thread is a bit old, just thought I'd post.
Best,

LindsayKate

Do you know anything about Kate Quinn's previous label, Earth Organic? I've heard it's exactly the same product, they just changed the name. Does anyone know if there's any truth to that?

ERin -

thanks so much for the info. You just saved me from makign a costly mistake. They should have refunded your money and let you keep the pants. I hate when companies give you the run around.

Maybe LindseyKate (the poster below you) could do something for you since she's a distributor....

Funny, I just pulled up this thread searching for coupon codes

My experiences with Kate Quinn are pretty okay. There are some items that are just so cute I can't resist. The sizing for sherpa things run a little large for my son, the pants are sized accurately and the onesies are grossly to small. My tiny boy was wearing 3-6 month at one month and his cousin's been wearing them since birth. 0-3 should be marked preemie. I once got a onesie that was sewn off a bit and they send me a new one and told me to keep the old so I just cut it into a t-shirt.

Hey there, just wanted to offer a coupon code f&f (friends and family I think?) I got it from my baby group and it's for 25% off for orders over $55!!!! Wahooo!!!! I know I said this before, but this is my FAVORITE baby/kids clothing company. They are the ONLY brand that I've found that is not only very affordable but exclusively offers certified organics and fair trade products (I always think it's strange when companies offer both - which is it, do you care or not? MAKE A COMMITMENT!). They also do not sell out to any large corporations or chain stores which I think keeps their little things very, very special.

Their customer service has been amazing for over a year or so. I should know, my baby group has spent so much with them lately =). The sizing is also more accurate in my opinion than it was. My experiences and the ones I've heard about have all been possitive and the negative have all ended up like the above one (with them replacing the item in a timely and courteous matter).

They did used to be Earth Organic Baby Basics a couple of years back. They changed their name because evidently they're not so basic anymore and not just for baby. I know because I used to buy from them way back when.

My suggestion is to just give them a call - 1-877-760-2997 (or contact info on www.KateQuinnOrganics.com) and I'm sure they'll take care of any problem, even ones in the past, they're definantly a company with principles and for sure they care about humanity so it seems strange that they wouldn't take care of you if you asked, so just give them a call!

Anyhow, just thought I'd share the coupon code (they have the frickin' sweetest Spring stuff in right now!).

I carry Kate Quinn in my boutique and yes they are sized on the large side. They have some really modern cute designs that is hard to find in organic cotton.
