Bloody show after internal exam

Is that pretty common, or is bloody show at any time a sign that I'm not far off from babyland?

What do you think? I had some pink-tinged goo on the toilet paper a few hours after I got back from the dr. today.

You know, I've never had that. With the boys, I had some exams late in pregnancy, and never ever ever had any show at all. I never had an exam within 48hrs of labor starting, though, and I've never dilated before labor anyways, so I'm not the best example They do say it's normal.
I had an exam two weeks ago, and it just gave me hours of false labor. No show.
You are getting close though...did you go early with your dd?

DD was pretty close to her due date, but I wasn't as sure about my ovulation date with her. Who knows! I've been contracting every 10 minutes, and they're uncomfortable, but I wouldn't say they hurt. We'll see if they pick up or slow down. I had one episode of "false labor" with DD where I had contrax 10 minutes apart, and they quit after a few hours. I went into real labor 10 days later.

It really would be very convenient if this little one would just tell me what day she's thinking of, so I can plan.

Very common. We tell all our pts who come in and get checked for whatever reason and go home (I'm an OB nurse) to expect a scant amt of blood. It's also a common reason for a hospital visit. Probably 8 times out of 10 they've been checked by the Dr. within the past 24 hrs. HTH.

IA it's totally normal to have some spotting & even possibly lose a bit of your plug after an internal exam. Your babe could come tonight or in a few weeks.....unfortunately that's not something you'll know for now.

Just to agree once again - totally normal - even expected.

My "Labor and Delivery" sheet from my doctor even says to expect some spotting or bleeding after a vaginal exam, so I think it's probably very normal.

You guys are no fun :P I did have a lot of "false" labor yesterday and last night, but nothing more than that. The pink has gone away so it was just from the internal.

The false labor is a pretty good sign though... I had that for about a week before I gave birth to DD... so I think we're getting close!
