Where are the VBAC mamas?

I am sure I have seen some mentions of mamas here going for VBACs. I am and would love to know I am not alone. I know one mama who already gave birth was a VBAC, anyone else?

I don't post a ton but I am going for a vbac! So you are not alone! I feel pretty ready mentally most days then nervous others. But I feel pretty good about it. How about you?

I'm going for a VBAC. It's very important to me. Got the midwives, doula, birth plan, and a packed suitcase. Ready to push this baby out!

As I get closer to my due date, which is next week, I find that I'm not even that consumed by the VBAC. Just wondering how I'm going to take care of a 2 year old and a baby at the same time. Sometimes I think that's more of a challenge than the actual birth!

Good luck VBAC mamas!!!

Me too! I'm really excited about my VBAC. My c-section was almost 6.5 yrs ago! We're hoping for a homebirth. We, too, have a midwife, doula, birthplan... and I have my wonderful chiropractor coming to the birth!

I am glad to see I am not alone. I am feeling great about it too, a little nervous but pretty much just ready to go for it. Cathi, it is good to see we have a "pro" here too Any hints, tips, or thoughts?

**waving** I'm here!

This is my 2nd VBAC also. I had a c/s with my second baby & a planned hb with my third. This will also be my 2nd hb.

I can't stress this enough.....you CAN do this, mommas! Something so simple we hear all the time here on MDC; your bodies were meant to do this. You'll be awesome & you'll do fine & you have such an amazing gift at the "end" (or beginning, as I like to call it) of it all.

I agree with Shannon. The main reason I had a successful VBAC was because I told myself I COULD have a successful VBAC. I did not let fear override me. I saw an OB until 30 weeks when he brought out the infamous "VBAC COnsent Form". Took one look at what he wanted me to commit to signing and hired a midwife that week. I knew that for me if I didn't advocate for myself and my child she'd be another section.

Here's a bright side to VBACing - while it was extremely difficult to have a VBAC in this horrible fear-oriented VBAC birth environment the US is experiencing right now, (many OBs still won't even let you attempt a VBAC), this time around care providers don't even blink at me. I've already had a VBAC? Oh, ok then, you're considered the same as someone who never had a csection. While I take my csection experience very seriously and would never underplay it or the toll it took on my body, it is a welcome change to be treated as if my uterus isn't going to explode if I go into labor.

Good luck fellow VBAC mamas! I wish you all the fuzzy feelings I had when I achieved my natural birth. YOU CAN DO IT!!

We're 2nd VBAC'ing here -- and homebirthing for the 1st time.

I'm going for a Vbac as well. With my first son I got to 9 cm dilation but he was occiput posterior and I couldn't push him out, labour basically cut out at the very end, stopped and they tried to induce me further, pitocin did nothing, I ended up with a section. But they told me I could do it this time because it was just the baby's position that prevented me from pushing him out. I'm 37 weeks now, I am sure I can do it as long as this one is in a good position.

I'm technically vbac, but I haven't thought of myself as that for two births now. So this will be my third vbac, second homebirth. Our bodies are made for birthing, you all will do fine!!

I am so glad to hear from you ladies that have already had VBACs. Thanks for the encouragement. I am sure any other advice is appreciated by all.

I'm glad you are all willing to go for it.
I'm days away from my 3rd home VBAC.
DD # 1 was a c-section because of a car accident at 34 weeks.

Best wishes to all of you planning a VBAC. It really is MUCH better to do it the natural way than to get cut open. As a plus, you heal up MUCH faster!
