Newborn clothing question for BTDT mamas - Page 2

I actually buy a few nb sleepers and outfits (knit pants and shirts) because for some reason even though my babies didn't fit in the weight range the clothes still fit for a few weeks. It was nice to have something that actually fit the baby at first!

The gowns are nice for nighttime diaper changes. BUT! They do not fit newborns! They are just way to big! Even my almost 10lb ds was swallowed by the gowns for a couple weeks!

I have mainly sleepers, gowns, tshirts and any outfits are usually just knit pants and shirts. Nothing stiff. We do have a couple outfits that are a bit more elaborate. But they aren't my favorites...

Socks! Get lots of them. They seem to disappear for some reason!

well I never used the gowns

I think the footed pajamas are what I used the most. It helps keep them warm and I don't know just never been a fan of the gowns.

My December in Minnesota DS lived in sleep-n-play zip-up or snap-up footed sleepers day and night. We had a couple of "outfits" that he would wear for special occasions, but with all that changing in and out and spitting up, etc. they aren't really practical. We actually liked the button up a little better because he developed eczema around his jawline, and with the snaps we could leave the sleeper unbuttoned and fold back the edges to keep it off his sensitive face. We did the kimono-wrap t-shirts while he was a newborn, and then we went to short-sleeve onesies underneath his clothes after that. The onesies are GREAT for containing the explosive breast milk poops that sometimes go all up your sweet little one's back!!! Many saves were made by that extra layer of cloth between the diaper and the cute little clothes. (Even when you soak right away, sometimes poopstains won't come out entirely!)
