So this is kind of an odd question for me to ask late in the game. My midwife thinks this baby may be posterior, and I agree. If I'm on my back, I have the flattening/plateau thing going on below my belly button. My belly seems squishier than I remember it being w/ DS. (and i"m not a fluffy mama).
2-3 weeks ago Midwife thought baby was posterior. Last appt midwife thought baby was right occiput transverse. Kicks were on my left side during that appt, which is rare, and she thought she felt the back on my right side, but we weren't sure. I don't think this is how my baby is usually positioned though. I think she flipped later in the day back to posterior with her back toward my left side?
I sometimes think I feel a back on my left side, and a butt under my left ribs, but I'm not sure. Most kicks tend to be under my right ribs or right in the center, between my ribs and belly button.
I do occasionally get kicks right at my belly button. I've heard this can signal a posterior baby.
When baby kicks, I can grab a foot sometimes. Again, I think a sign of baby being posterior? I can't remember if DS did this?
I think she's still moving around depending on my position. I'm over 38 weeks now, 2nd baby. I think I felt similar kicks w/ DS in terms of location but I think he may have been posterior and flipped about a week before my labor started. Not sure though.
Baby had hiccups the other night which were toward my left side, down in my pelvis and also up higher, which I presume was her back. That supposedly can signal baby being in a good anterior position.
I'm doing spinningbabies (have my whole pregnancy which is why I'm frustrated), seeing a chiro that does Webster stuff, using homeopathic pulsatilla, and visualization. My midwife says it isn't as big of a deal w/ a 2nd labor. DS's birth was really, really easy, and I'm paranoid this time things will be tougher w/ a posterior babe. I'm trying to hold out hope she'll flip.
Anyway, can you all share w/ me where you are feeling kicks right now late in your pgcy? I don't think my midwife is very certain of position (I keep seeing the same one of three in recent weeks, so I'm curious if I see a different midwife this coming visit what her opinion will be). I can't palpate this baby well to save my life.
I do have a lot of symphysis pubis pain with position changes and a lot of bladder pressure, which can be consistent w/ posterior.

I am trying not to worry about it too much!

LOL - but, what I know is that my baby has been in this exact same position since probably week 28, and I also know my DD was positioned this same way and her birth was very easy and she came out with her face toward my tailbone (whatever that is called).
