bach flower remedies-real or placebo?

I am interested in trying out these remedies, but as they are so expensive I wanted to maybe get some opinions from people who have actually tried them. I have tried Rescue Remedy a couple of times and it *seemed* to help, but it was subtle... has anyone tried these and been impressed? Or not?
thanks,
Rachel

Yeah. I was ambivalent about them for years because they're so expensive. Then someone strongly recommended them, I thought I'd try again.

I actually think a large part of the price comes from the bottles, which are high quality. So I'm saving them, can use them with essential oils.

I'm now using heather for anxiety and wild rose for depression. I feel that they work. It's not ultra clear, but I find that when I'm doing badly I often realize I've stopped taking them... when I'm doing well I've been taking them regularly.

I think part of it is getting just the right ones that are suitable for you.

Are you asking about people's personal experiences here? Or about what research shows?

I, too have thought about trying these in the past, but the only evidence I could find for their efficacy were personal testimonials. There isn't any evidence supporting their efficacy in well-designed studies, and that sort of information is important to me.

Yes, they work. I've seen pets respond to Rescue Remedy.

I can only speak from personal experience. Use rescue remedy, have been using it for years and I do belive it really works. As for scientific findings those can be manipulated into showing whatever the researcher wants to find (just my humble opinion). I would have to say they work, as long as you find the right ones you need.

I believe the Rescue Remedy works for me too. Placebo or not if it works it works.

i definitely belive rescue remedy works for us. i'd like to try out some other bachs stuff, but as you said, it's spendy.

I also believe that the essences work.
I've used them on myself and my kids--most specifically my dd who had night terrors.

With regard to their price---if you can get in on a Frontier co-op, they are only about $6 something through that.

They work for me. My doctor even uses them.

And by the way, the placebo effect IS real. If it gets the desired results, it is real. The placebo effect shows the power of the human will in healing. Bring it on, I say. A good placebo is a beautful thing.

I just don't like to pay $ for placebos!

Though I don't belive that Flower Remedies are placebos, I would rather pay for a placebo that will have the desired effect (which they have placebo or not) than pay for other meds which may or may not work and will most likely have all sorts of side effects.

: I've also responded well to Rescue Remedy. No experiences with the other varieties, though.
