NT raw eggnog? - Page 2

Do you think raw egg yolks are at all dangerous - for an elderly person / kids ?

All these recipes sound very yummy

And I wonder how long the egg whites would keep in the fridge - maybe a few days ?

I was wondering this too ... and still looking for ideas to use up the egg whites. I've been making egg nog every day and have been throwing out the whites, which I hate to do!

You know, I just re-read that first eggnog recipe - I think it's the second post on this thread - and it USES the egg whites too !

So I'm going to try that one. Otherwise, I was thinking I would make an omelet from whole eggs and just add some extra whites

In NT, Sally Fallon says that egg whites should be cooked because they contain enzyme inhibitors (I think that's what it was), although they can be eaten raw occasionally. So that would knock off my habit of 2 c. of raw eggnog a day

I've been using Metasequoia's recipe because I can whip it up in a minute or two ... which is a must for me

I throw the egg whites in with a couple of whole eggs & make scrambled eggs. I think you could make macaroons with the whites. I've heard that too - that white should be cooked, for that reason.

I use vanilla flavor, has glycerin instead of alcohol - got it at my local Amish farm store.

Deb, looks like I stole your recipe!

Wouldn't it be neat to use cranberry wine?

I use to drink raw eggnog for breakfast every morning.

My parents had banana flips for breakfast and I couldn't stand them so it was eggnog for me

Raw milk and raw eggs
