I cannot figure out my brand new serger :(

It has a instructional video, a diagram, and a manual and i cannot figure it out. The video goes to fast, the diagram is hard to read, its tiny spaces and i might throw it out the window.:

What kind is it? Do you have a friend who sews, or can you take a class?

I know it might sound silly, but it took me a bit to really realize that the colored threads in the diagrams are the same colors as were noted on the machine, and in the "this is what the finished stitch looks like" areas.
I agree, go to a local sewing shop (did you buy it at a shop or online?) and have them help you. Most of the time the trip is well worth it.
Sergers can be tough, but they're oh so nice to have.
