I absolutely love his books. I read "The Notebook" 1 1/2 years ago. It took me 5 hours. I got addicted and bought all his books. Just finishing up "The Guardian" now. Does anyone else like his books? Have you read another author similar to Sparks?

I agree, the books are a lot better than the movies. The movie for "A Walk to Remember" wasn't even close to the book. I've always preferred to read, though. "The Notebook" is coming out next year. "The Rescue" is being turned into a TV series.

Yes! I've read "Message in a bottle" and "The Notebook" too, and after both I bawled like a baby. Dh was sitting next to me as I was finishing up "message in a bottle" and he started laughing at me when he saw me crying. Stupid DH...

For some reason I didn't care for Message in a Bottle. I enjoyed it while I was reading it, but I guess I felt like it was overly manipulative. I finished it on a Friday afternoon and it depressed me for the entire weekend.

I just read "The Notebook" and "A Walk to Remember." I loved both and cried like a baby, too! I read "Message in a Bottle" awhile back but don't remember it being as good as these two. I'm anxious to read the rest of his.

I am also into Luanne Rice. Her books are wonderful! Very heart-warming and they pull the heart strings. A lot on family as well as romantic relationships. I've balled through a lot. My favorite is "Follow the Stars Home". Others I've read in order of favorites: "Blue Moon", "Cloud Nine", "Safe Harbor", "True Blue" and "Summer Light."

I finished The Guardian and it is very good. It's different than any of his other books, but I liked it.
I actually read The Notebook on a flight from TX to AR. A friend had given it to me to read. I wouldn't talk to dh the entire flight, my nose was buried in the book. By the time I finished it, I was crying so bad that several people were turning around looking at me. Dh was laughing so hard that he was crying, too! He knows how involved I get in some books.

Yeah, I used to love his books too and still do, but now that I'm a mom WAY I'm into parenting books. I've read all those too, except Guardian...even read the one that was about the fireman and the single mom (cant remember the name). I cried when reading his books too...especially like The Notebook and A Walk to Remember.

CL, you're thinking of The Rescue. It is being turned in to a TV series. I currently don't have children yet, so that's why I'm reading Sparks (although I did just get a couple of Sear's books to start reading).
