the "my period is coming" feeling

Anyone get that feeling? I'm talking about a really minor cramping sensation with pain also in the back. It feels exactly like a mild menstrual cramp.

I've been having these maybe once a day for the past few days, it only lasts maybe 30 seconds and I don't notice my belly hardening at all.... i'm 37w and baby has not dropped yet.... any guesses to what this is all about?

OK, this may be totally unrelated to your situation, but this has happened a few times to me recently, and it turned to be gas.

Me. I get those more lately. I believe they are a variation on BH's. My body is warming up for the real thing!

I've started to get some of those crampy feelings as well, along with back pain and a throbbing cervix. I think our bodies are getting ready!!

I have been having cramps in my lower abdomen and my upper legs, just like when I have my period. They come and go and I was unsure what to think of them (I am an infectious disease nurse not a L/D nurse), so I am glad I am not alone. Mine have been getting stronger for the past two weeks and they can take my breath a way sometimes. I go see my midwife tomorrow (39 week check) and it seems like I can't stop asking her questions.

i got those around 30 weeks , the period like cramps, now its just sometimes intense pain in my cervix that goes away, and uncomfyness, oh the joys this pregnancy seems painful compared to my first one lol

I have been getting those ever since the baby dropped.. Don't laugh, I have What To Expect When You're Expecting and it says this crampiness is really common in second-and-later pregnancies. I don't remember having this with DD! It doesn't seem to be related to contractions... it just feels like PMS! If you're having it with your first pregnancy... maybe you're just lucky!

I've been having this lately, too. To me it is a sign that labor is starting, as that is what early labor felt like for me - those extra-low cramps. I think my babe has dropped some, too, and that is probably why I am feeling them so low.

I get the crampy period feeling for about an hour but no contractions while I feel crampy. Mostly I have contractions when I get up from sitting down or if I am out somewhere walking. My baby dropped about 4 days ago and today when I get up from sitting I feel a sharp pain in my cervix every time so I am hoping she is coming very very soon!!

Same here. It started for me a couple of weeks ago. Thanksgiving began the start of some major crampiness: when I change positions, get up from sitting, strain to lift, have to go to the bathroom, sometines even just standing there! It's been pretty constant the last couple of days though not timeable. I was told it's probably my cervix effacing and dialating. I haven't felt much in the way of BH contx either. I did about 1 month ago but not recently. The closest I got was the last couple of days feeling a little tightening by the muscle near my right leg joint. I also agree that you get the crampiness when your baby begins to drop. Congrats!

i get that in the morning , i get out of bed , my back i skilling as always lmao i get on here for a lil before my sons awake but when igo to get up to get breakfast or something the pain sucks in my pelvis and cervix. but ive spent almost 2 weeks cleaning daily. so eh i dunno i got my appt today i am 36 weeks so eh we will see what happens, they check my cervix, ultrasound, monitor the heartbeat and see if ur contracting for 20 min and the reg stuff too so joy but ima b e late to my appt gotta wait fo rhubby to get back with my carseat i need for my friend
