But i've converted over to natural cleaners for everything, Borax, Baking Soda, Vinegar, & EO's but my dishes don't get clean in the dishwasher and my clothes don't get clean in the washer, What am i doing wrong? I'm so tempted to start using the detergent stuff at the local grocery, i know its not so good but i need to have clean clothes and dishes(kwim?) and i don't really want to start using the "other" stuff thats why i'm comming here first. I used to use something called Melaleuca and it worked good,(supposed to be natural) just really expensive, so would that be better than the regular detergent in the market? Please help, i'm outta ideas, Thanx

We would need to know your proportions in order to troubleshoot. I live where there is hard water, so if I ever do laundry with baking soda only, I do it with a full cup of baking soda (and to be honest, I don't know if the cup I'm using has 1 cup or 2 cups in it) - it's from the baking section. Some people use only 1/2 cup, but that doesn't work for me.

In my wash i use 1cup of Borax and 1 cup of BS, i fill up one of them dawn balls with vinegar and EO for the rinse cycle(i don't measure with that). In the dishwasher i use 1 tsp of borax and 1 tbls of BS to wash and vinegar in the rinse thing. It must be wrong but i'm more than willing to follow someone elses direction, Thanks
