This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I have two and used them a lot with DD, I loved the waterproof cover that you can get. It was great for DDs first winter when I couldn't quite fasten my coat over her.
I found it really comfrotable with a newborn facing inwards, DD was helpd really close to me and was sitting on the padded part at the botton not dangling. It did take a bit of getting used to how tight to tie it but it's easy to adjest if it starts to slip. I found that the cotton one was a lit easier to get tight than the cord one. I couldn't use this position for long after about 10 months as DD got too long.
I didn't really get on with the baby facing out position, DD never felt quite so secure and could reach out and grab things more easily. Not so great when I was doing housework.
I have used it for back carries and it worked OK, the straps did start to dig into my waist after 45 minutes or so. It was pretty easier to get on and off by myself though. I've nerver tried the hip carry.
Probably a major plus was that DH loved it and used it almost as much as I did. The only better thing for me than wearing DD till she slept was getting him to do it
.
I bought a wrap when DD was nearly a year old and I wanted to be able to carry her on my back more, I haven't really used the Wilkinet since. I'm interested to see which I'll use more with #2, due any day.
OK I'll stop rambling soon but I really would advise anyone who is thinking of buying one of these in the UK to check out ebay, there are always loads at good prices and they seem to last forever (mine is now on baby 8 and still looks new)

Absolutely, completely, totally and utterly love it. There's a picture of Skye in the hip carry somewhere on my blog, I think, but a ring sling works better. For a newborn, or facing outwards or inwards, they're an absolute dream, very adjustable and phenomenally comfortable. I don't use mine on the back so much because we had a nasty incident at the Forbidden Garden
Better than ebay, though, is your local NCT nearly new sale if you're in the UK. I got one for a friend for a quid once.
