Positive Target experience

Since so many yucky things have happened at a Target in recent months - I thought I'd share my positive experience. It actually happened about a month ago. I had ds2 in the sling facing out, and he had fallen asleep. I was standing in the bathroom waiting for dd1. One of the Target employees came in to wash her hands and started talking to me about ds2. She started commenting about how cute and peaceful he was and then said, "I'm guessing he's breastfed?" I said, "You guess right." She said, "I can always tell. His skin looks so healthy. Formula fed babies get that pasty look." Just thought I'd share with all the negative things happening at Target lately.

My third son was FF (not by choice~medical reasons) and he has a very healthy glow about him. We always receive compliments about his "peaches and cream" complexion. Must have been the genes. LOL!

But, I will say that at least you had a positive experience. I am SO glad!

Even though I was not able to BF #3, I DO fully support BF and still consider myself a lactivist. If I could join in the "nurse-ins", I would.

I get SO steamed when BF mothers are treated like second class citizens.

Thanks so much for sharing your positive experience. I saw a momma at Target bfing and gave her a thumbs up - my two saw me do this and copied . She beamed back. Felt good.

It's the little things that can make a day.

Cheers.

YAY!
I have had happy Target experiences too.

Once I met a family of 5 happy kids, like mine. The mom had a OTSBH sling, and said she wished she hadn't forgoten her Maya sling at home They were homeschooled too.

Another time this older lady saw us, did a head count, smiled and said "I bet you homeschool too" with a smile. I said "How'd you know?"

I have a friend who FFed her preemie twins. I went on a weekend trip w/ her once. Helped her wash the bottles, sterilize them (the cabin didn't have a dishwasher) etc. I felt bad for her having to do that every single day, what a hassle. More convenient my hairy hobbit big toe!

Well, now I just feel bad for venting the one bad thing that happened to me. : I guess I was just shocked because usually I have such GREAT experiences at Target such as a few weeks ago when I was nursing in plain sight of everyone in the furniture department. They had this GREAT leather chair and ottoman on display. Most people just averted their eyes but one woman went by and gave me a big smile and said, "That's a great spot, isn't it?" Go !

I feel fortunate that I've never had a bad experience nursing at Target. I nurse there just about everytime I'm there. And that's a lot!
