I didn't post much, but definitely lurked during my pregnancy. I had such an amazing birth I just had to share a quick version of it.
My beautiful baby girl was born Nov. 26th at 9:36 a.m. She weighs 6lbs3ounces, my son was 8lbs 11 ounces so this is quite different for me.
I went into labor at 1:30 a.m on Saturday and had contractions all over the place for the next 28 hours. They would be 5 minutes apart then 15 then 20 then 2 then 1. It was pretty unbelieveable. The contractions were very strong but it was nice to get a break. I had pitocin with no pain-meds with my sons birth and it was hell compared to this. Being at home was so amazing! I had my great friend who is a certified doula with me the entire time. I didn't have dh call the midwife until an hour and a half before I birthed Imogen. My doula and I were dancing and singing between contractions. I had candles lit everywhere. I had a birthing tub but didn't end up going in it until 15 minutes before Imogen was born. When it came time to push I let out 3-4 grunts and she crowned. Then, I stopped pushing because I could feel her moving out on her own. She pushed her own way out the rest of her journey. It was the most beautiful and amazing experince I've ever had! I am still in such awe of the beauty of birth at home without pitocin. I am on cloud nine and hope to never come down.
Congratulations to all the new moms, and for the ones waiting I wish you a most beautiful labor!
