Well, at least BF rights are included!

The cards would be great if they were sent out when the baby arrived instead of when the baby is a year old.

Can you imagine a woman sitting around at home for a year not going out for fear of her baby getting hungry in public, then the card arrives and all of a sudden she realizes she can go to the mall b/c the state of Illinois has told her she can NIP. :

Actually, I can. Or a woman thinking she needed to carry a bottle of EBM to make sure no one saw her indecent boob while feeding her child.

You say it in jest, but I, unfortunately really CAN see it.

It's funny b/c they're congratulation cards for the birth of a new baby, but here in NY, that's all too typical. I can't tell you how many pieces of garbage we received right before elections from the incumbents, telling us what a great job they're doing and listing everything they're doing for us. Of course, they were all done on state franking machines using taxpayer dollars...

I actually meant the jesting emphasis to be on the after a year part. I figure by then she'll be used to it. Where if she had gotten the right off the bat she could have gradually built confidence in NIP. I know that there are many women who breast feed at home but give bottles not just of EBM but also formula while out.

If you didn't NIP a quiet and descrete 2 mo you aren't suddenly going to start NIP with a 1 yo who wants to play peek-a-boo with your shirt. I think NIP is easier the sooner you start.

BTW DS was 3 days old the first time we NIPed and I had no clue I was legally guaranteed the right to do so, it made me very nervous about being descreat. I would have loved it if someone had told me, but it wasn't election time.
