Three cheers for mucus!!!

I am 39 1/2 weeks. Haven't had regular BH contx's. Baby doesn't seem to have dropped. Have had a crampy feeling for the past week and a half. : Worried that I might not get my Family Practitioner deliver my baby (I'm part of a group: three women, three men. I really prefer to have a woman deliver my baby, sorry guys!). I was two weeks late and have started to worry that my baby would be late too (and that these cramps would continue to get worse over the next two weeks! ). But then...

This morning, a nice glob of mucus plug!!!! : Hurray!!! Progress. The light at the end of the tunnel! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this means I'll go into labor in the next few days. :

How long was it before some of you experienced mamas went into labor after seeing your mucus plug?

LOVE the title of your post. I had to come read it!!

I've got no experience to share other than the fact that I've been losing mine steadily over the past week. I hope it means good things to come for both of us soon!!!

Keep us posted!

I am excited for you! I have never gotten to experience the mythical mucus plug but am still holding out hope that it will happen to me too

: I'm afraid to write this because...well...I've only lost my mucus plug once, with my first. I lost it between 37-38 weeks and was eventually induced at 41w because we had run out of fluid. (Unrelated a slow leak I had been telling them and telling them about.) So sorry no great yes I lost my plug and gave birth two days later post, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Dang! I actually met someone who said they lost their entire plug and didn't deliver until two weeks later

I've been losing mine over the past week, too.. but I'm only 36/37 weeks and hoping that baby girl waits until after my dh finishes finals!

I mentioned this to him earlier today and he looked kind of worried, and asked when my next dr. appt. was... I tried to tell him that it really doesn't mean anything at all--really (although part of me hopes it means SOMEthing is going on labor-wise)....

i haven't had any mucus yet, but with dd when it showed up, I was in labor within 5 hours and she was born the next day. Feel better now?

I've been losing little bits of mucous for a month now, but no gobs.

With my first, I lost a HUGE gob of it at 34 weeks - complete with streakings of blood. He was born at 38w+1 !

I lost my plug, blood streaked and everything, in the morning on the 18th, went into labor around midnight that night (19th) and had ds at 10:34 the same day (19th).

Good luck to you!

Yay! We get crazy in late pregnancy, don't we! Three cheers for mucus I've lost bunches of it too this time - two weeks ago - still pregnant...but not a huge chunk or anything. So mine's not the real, real thing anyways.

last time I lost mine at 39 weeks, and it was bloody. I went into labor that night. I wanna loose mine too!!!

With my first baby, I lost my plug about a week before I gave birth, but it seems I was in the minority and that most women do give birth relatively soon after losing it (like within a few days). Ya for progress for you though!!!

Yay, progress!!!

is it weird that I check for mine everytime i'm in the bathroom?
I check every time in the bathroom too- and nothing! I keep telling myself that some women never notice it, or lose it during labor, etc...but I want to see it to show my progress!!
