Wrap at Babies R Us!!

I was so excited yesterday, I got a BRU catalog in the mail and usually I just recycle it but I flipped through it by chance and saw that they now carry a wrap!

Let me see if I can find a link...Here we go.

Forgive me if this is old news. It's just so great when "alternative" ideas get out there for people to see and learn about!!

The first wrap I saw was this very wrap on the BRU website when I was pregnant. We ordered one, but felt it was just a *little* too stretchy so we returned it, but it was my first encounter with a wrap. Had we not seen it, we may not have discovered wraps until much later and we would have missed out on snuggling with a little newborn in a wrap. How I loved having DS in a fwcc, snuzzling and kissing the top of his little head when he was just born . I miss those days .

It's unfortunate, though, that whenever I am at a BRU store, they never have these in stock.

I owned one of those. They are very strechy but like the PP said if I had not had one of those then I probably wouldn't have gotten into wraps

I used this wrap with both of my babies and it worked quite well. I believe this has been available through their store (online) for a couple of years (bought mine in April of '04). I tried to use a sling with my son when he was a newborn but it didn't work well for us so I bought this wrap becaues it seemed to be just as good as the more expensive ones. It was a little warm as the summer in New Mexico began but for the first few months was wonderful. It is great to see a mainstream store carrying an alternative to the "crotch-hangers."

I've never heard Snuglis and the like called "crotch hangers" but I knew just what you were referring to!

Well I feel a little silly. I didn't realize they had been out/been carrying those for so long. I've been in my own little ring sling, Kozy and KKAFP world. I love the look and idea of wraps but they intimidate the heck out of me. Maybe at the next NINO meeting I will try one out...

I got one of these for my shower. It was great to start with buy I felt like it was to flimsy and I couldn't get the rings tight enough. It did teach me how to use a wrap, however and now I have a moby.

"Hidden security harness"???????? Not since I saw UBW, there wasn't, unless theyr'e talking about, oh, the pocket wrap cross carry...

Why why why why WHY do they have to take the least functional and most gadgetful of any given baby carrier type? Why?

The rings on these are totally unnecessary and actually tend to hinder getting a good tight wrap.

I know what you mean! It's like these stores go over to thebabywearer.com and pick all the carriers with the worst reviews! It's a start, but it's also really too bad.
