Formula samples... - Page 2

I'd give them to a LLL leader rather than a shelter - then you know they'll be use properly, by women who really NEED to supplement for medical reasons, not FF by choice or convenience. But would the LLL leader be allowed to give them out?

My checks were all for lots until I gave them to an LC to give to someone who needed them, then they were in steadily diminishing amounts.

Not in the role of a leader...that would be far beyond the scope of supporting and encouraging mothers to breastfeed. Perhaps a leader encounters a mother occasionally who does supplement, but I don't think that a leader would ever be a better choice than a shelter or food bank. No offense to LLL leaders

I would trust that the shelter is giving them to mothers who need formula (for whatever reasons) to feed their babies. The LLL leaders who I know would not give out a formula coupon if you paid them

I thought if you mark things "return to sender" the sender pays the return postage? So can't you make a statement by sending back the cans? I'd alsp write a protest letter for the apparent invasion of privacy.

I find it weird that they sent the formula w/ someone else's name as well... but I get all kinds of weird stuff in my maiden name here in Ohio when I was never unmarried in Ohio, or things in my BIL's name or my mom's name here! Neither of them have ever even lived in Ohio as well. LOL.

As for what I do w/ the checks and formula samples I get-- I help out some moms in my MOPs group who are well past the trying to breastfeed stage (some having even tried SNS and other methods w/ a LC's help unsuccessfully) and can use the financial help that the coupons and samples can help them with to provide for their young children. If the formula company is gonna send me the junk in the mail, I'm going to ensure that it at least does someone some good since it's been passed out already.

Lizanneh,
it was pointed out somewhere that returning the can only helps the co with information. I thought that since the can was much heavier than a slip of paper it would cost more, but I don't know.

Vs. Throwing them away? It seems so wasteful when maybe it could help someone who really needs the help.
If they need so much help, why do you wait until the can comes around? What happened the day before the can came? What happened the month before the can came? Some baby starved?
If you never had received the can, you wouldn't be worried now. If you throw this can, no baby will miss it. Only the manufacturer.
