Conversation about nurse-in

So I had an interesting and heated conversation the other day at Thanksgiving dinner. We were at my in-law's and they had some friends over, a couple that I've met a few times. The woman is really nice (although she said she didn't breast feed because she didn't want her breasts to get too big : ) but the guy is someone who I know I have differing opinions from. So at the dinner table, he starts talking about the nurse-in and he probably didn't get halfway through his first sentence (about how ridiculous it was) when I could feel myself starting to get all hot and ansy. Basically he equated breast-feeding in public to a guy doing "you-know-what" in public. I pretty much blew up (in a nice way) and said "how is that anywhere near the same thing? I"m feeding my child. Would you rather my child scream through the entire flight?" Anyway, it really ticked me off and I"m still kind of fuming about it. I was so mad that I didn't really make the points I wanted to (there are so many!). But I was really proud of my FIL. This guy is a friend of his and he stood up to him. FIL is not normally the type of guy to stand up for anything but he was like "bfing is the most natural thing someone can do!" Yay FIL! Boo FIL's friend! Anyway, just wanted to share. I've never had someone say such ridiculous things about breastfeeding before, it caught me off guard.

I'm glad neither of you let him get away with it
