Tapering a fleece wrap

Ok, as a newbie I started with a 30" fleece wrap but it was way too bulky so I cut it down to a 10"(great when she was newborn but to small now) and a 20" (Also great but I find not quite wide enough for some back carrys).

Now I went out and made a 30" fleece wrap which is perfect because I can fold it in half for most ties and just unfold the middle for a pouch when needed, plus the 2 layers are super warm(It's freezing here). Now I am running into a bulky knot problem. I myself am comfortable tying it once instead of a double knot, but others who use it aren't.

So here's my question. How can I taper this wrap while still folding it in half and having the right taughtness in all the right places. And if I can taper this wrap like a normal wrap how far back from the ends should I start the taper and how wide should the blunt edge of the taper be? I was thinking that I could taper it to a point instead of a trapazoid since it will be doubled over. Any thioughs, suggestions, or personal eperiences?

Bumping because I am wondering the same thing. I would think it would work? But I'm not sure! I wanted to make a fleece wrap but the bulkiness does concern me!
