Mei Tai or Moby...

I fell in love with this Mei Tai months ago...

Now I am conflicted if this is the way to go...

I am thinking about a Moby wrap but it just looks like so much fabric...

Opinions anyone? I thinking the Moby is more useful...esp w/a newborn...

For a 10 month old, I'd go with the MT. I loooooved my moby when my son was a newborn, BUT since it is very stretchy, as the child gets heavier, it feels like you need to constantly re-tighten it all of the time, b/c it stretches out. It IS a lot of fabric, other than my moby, I've never been a big into wraps, but some mamas just love them. I also found the MT to be cooler than the moby, just due to less fabric and more air circulation since the MT just has a panel with straps, instead of lots of wide fabric.

From what I can see in your sig, you are still pregnant?

Stretchy wraps are nice for newborns-3 months. Then they get a bit too heavy and the wraps arnt supportive and you will feel pressure points. A great alternative to moby is the www.gypsymama.com BBS [bali baby stretch]. The fabric is still stretchy and soft, but it is lighter weight and more supportive.

If you want to invest in something that you can use well into toddlerhood, go with a woven wrap. This link will show you a couple of well loved brands: http://store.attachedtobaby.com/Sear...ry=Woven-Wraps

Wrapping is very easy and intuitionable once you learn how. It is just like tying your shoes. It may LOOK complicated, but it isn't once you try is a couple times. Here is a link on some instructions: http://www.peppermint.com/girasolcarry.htm

But, on the other hand some people prefer MTs over wraps. It is personal preferance. Both are comfortable.
BTW: I have an eclectic babies MT. They are very well made!
