Good for you! I have started listing a deadline when I offer things on freecycle, too. I think it encourages people to pick stuff up sooner rather than later. I haven't had as many no-shows since I've been doing that (knock on wood!).

how is it going?
well, one freecycler contacted me and were doing an exchange wed evening, everything else is packed by the front door to go to thrift tomorrow. I also tossed a bag of recycling today, and a bag of true trash- included an extra/broken cat litterbox.

151/500

today I craigslisted (for free) 4 boxes and 2 bags of toys

I think I misposted my first 76 items in the December declutter challenge thread instead of here

what's remarkable is that my kids are right here and don't quite know what I'm doing...

20 moving/shipping boxes freecycled
18 pieces of plastic play food waiting to be picked up from freecycle - (I actually am counting this as 18 - I am getting desperate to make it to 500 - I know it will motivate me to get rid of so much more stuff.)

209/500

today (in about 25 minutes total) I threw out:
24 worn out towels and cleaning rags
2 worn out litter boxes
1 giant cat litter container
5 broken toys

and a partridge in a pear tree

bagged up for donation:

12 towels/washcloths
1 baby bjorn
2 boxes of thermoheat packs
6 toys
and God help me...

3 tablecloths (I'm a linens fanatic)
2 bolts of fabric I love and have kept for 5 years without using!!!! This is huge!!!

I think I can easily double my goal and make it before New Years....I don't think I will though, I'd rather just surpass my current goal!

Lookout magazines, here I come!

Question: Do recyclables count?

I've got a load on my backporch that would be going to the recycling center anyway...do these items count toward our total?

I know how hard this is...I have some similar items. I think I'll need someone to hold my hand as I let them go.

6 baby boy outfits to a MIN
2 books, 1 video, 1 toy donated to my son's Mother's Day Out Program.
